Family Trip 2008 - Sea World Sleepover

Our annual pack trip is right around the corner! This page is your one stop shop for all information regarding this trip. Where to go, what to do, what to bring, who to talk to.

Cost:
$112 per person.
Popcorn Discounts: [UPDATED 3.10.08]
Scouts who sold over $300 in popcorn receive a $38 discount ($74 admission for the scout). Scouts who sold over $600 receive a $76 discount ($36 admission for the scout). Scouts who sold over $900 do not pay to attend. Parent and siblings are $112. [UPDATE] All Den Leaders will have the spreadsheet detailing which scouts have earned what discounts at the Monday, 10 March 2008 Den Meetings. You can also contact Mr. Reed or Mr. D. Merrick for clarification.
Park Only:
Scouts or families that do not wish to attend the overnight educational program are welcome to join up with the pack inside Sea World on Saturday.
Park Hours:
On Saturday, the park is open until 10pm.
Minimum Age:
We are very sorry, but infants and toddlers are not permitted to overnight in the park. All are welcome in the park on Saturday (of course). Sea World requests that chaperones not outnumber scouts and siblings in attendance.

What to Bring:
We will be sleeping on mats or carpeted floors, inside the Polar Bear or Penguin exhibits. Please bring a change of clothes, toiletries, sleeping bag, pillow and a towel in a bag that you can easily carry. There are no shower facilities, we will be using park restrooms. I’ve heard ear plugs might be in order as well. For the park on Saturday, we reccomend sunscreen, a hat, and a poncho.

Education program begins at 7pm on Friday evening. We will meet as a pack between 6:30pm and 6:45pm at the Education Gate. On day of arrival, contact David Merrick at 850.908.7098 if you get lost or have last minute questions.

When you enter the Sea World Main Gate, look to the right for signs directing you to the "Education Gate". We will be parking there.
Friday Dinner:
Pizza will be served at 9pm, but you may wish to eat prior to entry to the overnight program. No food can be brought with you.

Breakfast will be served to us prior to entering the park on Saturday.
Storage: [UPDATED 3.24.08]
Since no one want to lug a sleeping bag or luggage around the park, we have two options for storage of those items. First, you will have access to your vehicles, so you can lock items in your trunk. Also, the park will make available a place for us to store items while we are enjoying the park on Saturday.

All participants in the sleepover portion of the trip must complete a Participant Release form. If you do not have one, download the PDF file from here, print it out and bring it with you to Sea World.The Pack will not be collecting forma ahead of time - bring the completed forms with you to Sea World.
